In the ATEX directive "Components" are defined as any items essential to the safe functioning of equipment and protective systems but with no autonomous functions.
It is then clear that in a Jet Pulse Dust collector, the main filtering function could not be achieved without filter bags and filter cages (who avoid the filter bag collapsing during use).
Even when we look at the definition of "Equipment" we can not note that filter cages together with filter bags jointly are intended for processing material and are capable of causing explosion through their potential source of ignition", as many studies on electric discharges incidents in dust collectors have reported.
It is then cleared that filter cages whenever considered "components" or even "equipment" perfectly fit into the scope of Atex Directive 2014/34/EU.
As it applies to the guidelines of the directive, it is a choice and a responsibility of the manufacturer, which Clean Air Europe Srl has requested for its line of Eco Atex products in Zone 21 and Zone 22 with controls as per Annex VIII of the standard.
